Who We Are

Christopher A. Garofalo obtained his baccalaureate degree from Dowling College in (1997) and his master of arts degree from Adelphi University in (2001). In addition, Christopher completed the Advanced Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis Program at Queens College in (2009). Christopher has been a New York State Licensed Behavior Analyst and Board Certified Behavior Analyst since (2014).

Christopher has more than 16 years of experience as an applied behavior specialist. He has more than ten thousand hours of experience conducting functional analyses of behavior, developing and implementing behavioral interventions, and training parents, families, educators, and employers in behavioral management strategies. Moreover, Christopher has been appointed Adjunct Professor and Clinical Supervisor at the prestigious St. John’s University since 2013.

Mr. Garofalo has extensive experience in helping developmentally disabled children and adults develop compensatory skills that replace unwanted behaviors.

Behavior Understood: Applied Behavior Analysis Services, P.C. is a professional and private agency providing evidenced-based and empirical applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) throughout their lifespan.

Our Goal:

Our goal is to provide person-centered, evidence-based, behavioral interventions and strategies based on the principles and decades of research of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and to do so in a manner that helps the learner no matter their age or disability to learn to communicate and interact in an appropriate and effective manner and to do so in a way that occasions natural and reinforcing interactions.
